Supported by Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the Online Language Program International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship at LZU was initiated, and online courses began on March 8. About 300 overseas students in over 20 countries such as Thailand and Vietnam have commenced their Chinese language learning courses online in the following six months or one year.
This is an online scholarship program which aims to provide opportunities for Chinese language learners to continue their learning when China is developing its “Internet + International Chinese language education” strategy and COVID-19 is still spreading globally. LZU is one of the first-batch universities participating in this program.
To guarantee teaching quality, this curriculum varies according to the students’ Chinese proficiency, time differences or other factors. For instance, in order to meet the special demands of the students from Thailand, the weekend classes for them have already been arranged in winter vacation in advance. The students are satisfied with the learning environment where all of the attendants are using Chinese to read, write and talk.
